Potaua - Halloween Recount

British and French isles started the celebration in order to respect the Lord of the Dead, Samhain. Druids or local priest started rituals and celebrations including bonfires, in the hopes that they would make Samhain happy.

Halloween is celebrated by having family traditions or community events. Halloween is a special day to remember the dead. The traditional event of Halloween for most countries is to dress up in a costume and walk around the neighbourhood to strangers houses.

Philippines trick-or treating is gradually replacing the tradition of Pangangaluluwà, a local version of the old English custom of souling. Some provinces in the Philippines still celebrates “Pangangaluluwa” by forming a group that will go house to house and offer a song in exchange for money or food.

For most countries halloween is celebrated on the 31st of October but some countries celebrate their Halloween day on November the 1st.
